We will hold a Coaches Meeting on June 10th at 7:30 in the 2nd floor meeting room at Media Borough Hall.  We ask that all coaches attend.

It's that time of year again......travel team evaluations are right around the corner. All the information that you need can be found in our 2013 - 2014 Newsletter. All forms that are needed can be found below and in the forms section of this web site.

All new and returning players need to register before evaluations using our on-line registration system – click on the REGISTRATION button on our website – www.rosetreesoccer.org.  You will be prompted to pay on-line with a credit card or by mailing a check.    There are other items that we will need from each player.  You can either mail these in or drop them off at Cherry Street on Saturday, April 20th 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. or Wednesday, April 24th 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  Registrations need to include:

• EPYSA RG-6 Form - this is mailed to RTSC, not EPYSA
• Clear Copy of State Issued Birth Certificate – ONLY for players who did not play travel for RTSC last year
• All players will be required to e-mail a picture to their coach – we ask that you do this after you are placed on a team
• All players will be required to give their coach the EPYSA Medical Release Form – we ask that you do this after you are placed on a team
• U13 and Up - Registration Fee of $185 per player – Register by April 19th and receive the early registration rate of $160
• U09 – U12 – Registration & Training Fee (new for 2013) of $260 per player – Register by April 19^th and receive the early registration rate of $235 (This fee includes registration and eight 90-minute training sessions with licensed trainers.)

  

(It is the policy of RTSC that no player is denied the opportunity to participate in the sport of soccer for financial reasons.  Please contact the club when registering if you have a financial hardship.  We do have a RTSC Financial Aid Form that you will be asked to fill out – located under Forms on this website.)

PAYING THE REGISTRATION FEE

A Player’s age for the Fall 2013 Soccer Season is their age on July 31, 2013.  Players born after July 31, 2005 are not eligible to play travel soccer unless they are entering third grade this fall.  The various Age Groups are described as under a certain age, and technically any Player who is under that age can be evaluated and play for a team in that Age Group.  However, RTSC strongly encourages players to play in their appropriate Age Group.  Any new player who wishes to be considered for an older age group should note that when they register and attend both age group evaluations.

·        Players are expected to attend both evaluation sessions.  Participation in only one session may hinder the ability to accurately assess skill level.  Any player unable to attend evaluations due to extenuating circumstances must still register and contact Ben Chambers (boys) at chambersrtsc@gmail.com prior to the evaluation dates to make alternative arrangements.

·        RTSC will make every effort to field as many teams as we have competitive players and coaches, however we may not be able to place everyone on a team. Players should be notified of their status prior to May 24th.

·        Players need to wear shin guards and bring a soccer ball and water bottle to evaluations.  Players are requested not to wear travel team uniforms to evaluations.  We also ask that any player team bags be left at home on evaluation days.

Schedule for the Age Groups for the Fall 2013 Boys Travel Team Program. Players should plan to attend both sessions.

Are you interested in being a travel team coach (head or asst)?  We ask that all coaches fill out a coaching application and e-mail it to admin@rosetreesoccer.org or mail it to the club.  The following items are also required:

1.  EPYSA RG-6 Form - e-mail or mail to club
2.  Register as a volunteer for the age group you are interested in coaching on the RTSC on-line registration system
3.  Signed acceptance of the RTSC Coaches Code of Conduct - agreed to when registering on-line with RTSC
4.  A current KidSafe Plus certification - instructions are below (this needs to be completed every year)
5.  You will need to register with EPYSA once teams are assigned - we will let you know when this needs to be completed
6.  A 1" x 1" photograph - you will need to upload this to EPYSA once teams are assigned
7.  RTSC Coaching Application

·        In addition to the registration fee, additional costs to play travel soccer include uniform costs and fees to cover activities such as tournaments and travel expenses during the year.  The total cost will vary from team to team depending on the level of activity the Coach and the Team (including Parents) establish for the year. (It is the policy of RTSC that no player is denied the opportunity to participate in the sport of soccer for financial reasons. Please contact the club when registering if you have a financial hardship.)

·        Registration fees will be refunded immediately to players who are not placed on travel teams.  Players who drop out prior to August 1, 2013 are eligible for a refund of their registration fee less a $25 administrative charge.

Evaluations for our 2013 - 2014 Travel Season are held in the spring of 2013 - see schedule above. Players are notified of team status by the end of May.  Depending on the team - practices start at the end of June/beginning of July.  Most teams practice twice a week in the evening during the summer and cut back to once a week when school starts.  Some teams will participate in tournaments in August to warm-up for the season. 

The league games start the Saturday after Labor Day and run through the Saturday before Thanksgiving.  Boys' teams play on Saturday - it is not uncommon to have games on either day, though; and some times both days on some weekends. 

All teams will participate in a tournament over Columbus Day Weekend.

Some teams continue and play indoors in the winter and will participate in leagues tournaments in the spring - this is up to each team.
