2021 Youth Travel

February 2, 2021 - Registration for our 2021 Travel Season is now open. See below for more info on our Travel Program...

Registration closes on April 30th - you need to register and pay by then in order to be able to participate in evaluations.

General Overview of the Travel Program

Evaluations for our Travel Season are held in the spring. Players are notified of team status by the middle of May.  Depending on the team - practices start at the end of June/beginning of July.  Most teams practice twice a week in the evening during the summer and cut back to once a week when school starts.  Some teams will participate in tournaments in August to warm-up for the season.

The league games start the Saturday after Labor Day and run through the Saturday before Thanksgiving.  Girls' teams play on Sunday - it is not uncommon to have games on either day, though; and some times both days on some weekends.

All teams will participate in a tournament over Columbus Day Weekend.

Some teams continue and play indoors in the winter and will participate in leagues tournaments in the spring - this is up to each team.

Travel Team Costs

In addition to the registration fee, additional costs to play travel soccer include uniform costs and fees to cover activities such as tournaments and travel expenses during the year.  The total cost will vary from team to team depending on the level of activity the Coach and the Team (including Parents) establish for the year. (It is the policy of RTSC that no player is denied the opportunity to participate in the sport of soccer for financial reasons. Please contact the club when registering if you have a financial hardship.)

  • Players are expected to attend both evaluation sessions.  Participation in only one session may hinder the ability to accurately assess skill level and impact the placement of a player.  Any player unable to attend one or both evaluations due to extenuating circumstances must still register and contact the club prior to the evaluation dates to make alternative arrangements.
  • RTSC will make every effort to field as many teams as we have competitive players and coaches; however we may not be able to place everyone on a team. Players will be notified of their status prior to Memorial Day Weekend.
  • Players need to wear shin guards and bring a soccer ball and water bottle to evaluations.  Players are requested not to wear travel team uniforms or bring player team bags to the Travel Evaluations.

RTSC Travel Team Coaches

All coaches applications are due by March 31st

Are you interested in being a travel team coach (head or asst)?  We ask that all coaches volunteer on-line through the on-line registration system.  The following items are also required:

1.  Signed acceptance of the RTSC Coaches Code of Conduct - agreed to when volunteering on-line with RTSC
2.  You will need to register with EPYS once teams are assigned - we will let you know when this needs to be completed
3.  A 1" x 1" photograph - you will need to upload this to EPYS once teams are assigned
4. Background checks as mandated by PA

5.  All Coaches must complete the CDC Concussion Training (Online). This needs to be completed each calendar year for every travel coach.

Concussion Training - Required of all Travel Team Coaches Every Year

http://www.cdc.gov/concussion/HeadsUp/online_training.html

Get prepared for the new season in less than 30 minutes

Heads Up: Concussion in Youth Sports is a free, online course available to coaches, parents, and others helping to keep athletes safe from concussion. It features interviews with leading experts, dynamic graphics and interactive exercises, and compelling storytelling to help you recognize a concussion and know how to respond if you think that your athlete might have a concussion.

Once you complete the training and quiz, you can print out a certificate, making it easy to show your league or school you are ready for the season.

What Will I Learn in this Training?

This course will help you:

•Understand a concussion and the potential consequences of this injury,

•Recognize concussion signs and symptoms and how to respond,

•Learn about steps for returning to activity (play and school) after a concussion, and

•Focus on prevention and preparedness to help keep athletes safe season-to-season.

Covid Protocol - Spring 2021

Dear RTSC Travel Parent,

Our RTSC spring travel season will have safety precautions due to COVID-19.  We are still following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Pennsylvania Department of Health.  Please explain to your athlete that following the safety and health guidelines are mandatory.

Health Considerations

  1. You must keep your athlete(s) home if they are not feeling well, displaying signs of COVID-19, has been in contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 or has a fever greater than 100.4.

  2. We would appreciate being notified if your athlete or anyone in your immediate family tests positive for COVID-19 so we can initiate our contact tracing protocols if the situation warrants.

  3. Any athlete that becomes sick or displays symptoms of COVID-19 will be immediately separated from other athletes and that athlete’s parent/guardian will be asked to take the athlete and leave the premises promptly.

  4. Any coach or referee that becomes sick or displays symptoms of COVID-19 will be immediately separated from the athletes and will leave the premises promptly.

  5. RTSC is following the COVID-19 Quarantine Protocols included below for individuals with exposure to someone with COVID-19.  These protocols can be found on the Chester County Health Department’s website.

  6. We encourage your assistance with our contact tracing protocols if we need to initiate them.

Mask Usage

  1. Athletes are required to wear masks at all times in accordance with PA Dept of Health orders including during on-field activities and games, while on sidelines and while entering and exiting the fields from the parking areas.

  2. Parents/guardians are required to wear a mask at all times including in the parking areas and on the sidelines.

  3. Coaches and referees will wear masks at all times.

General

  1. We ask that families do not bring siblings or pets to the field.  We are still encouraging fewer spectators.

If you have any questions, please contact [email protected].

Thanks,

RTSC
